TEMPORARY 1039:
This is a full-time temporary position not-to-exceed 1 year that will total less than 1040 hours (6 months), excluding overtime in a service year. The service year is the calendar year that begins on the date of the employee's initial appointment in the agency. These appointments may be extended from year to year. Extensions of appointment without further competition may be granted based on work needs, funding, or any other condition of employment. The employee may be terminated or placed on an intermittent work schedule (no pre-scheduled tour of duty) at any time. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Apply pest control methods to destructive, depredating, or predatory animals Provide guidance and oversight for field crews while repairing or building fences Track and hunt feral or alien animals with firearms, traps, and bait Apply non-restricted herbicides for control of alien or invasive plants Maintain records of daily work activities Physical Effort:
The employee experiences prolonged walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting and carrying. Items such as backpacks, tools, firearms, boards and fence posts weighing up to 30 pounds are frequently lifted and carried, and objects such a backpack sprayers, rolls of fencing, and bags of cement weighing in excess of 60 pounds are handled and carried occasionally. Long hikes and lengthy drives over very rough roads are frequently required to get to work sites. Working Conditions:
The work is performed outdoors at low elevations where the employee frequently encounters rough terrain. The employee must kill pest animal species and handle dead animals. Exposure to herbicide spray and dust also occurs. Discomforts and hazards are compounded by the isolated nature of the worksite. Wearing of the Service uniform in accordance with the FWS Administrative Service Manual 3 AM 3 is a requirement of the position. A variety of protective and safety gear such as coveralls, safety shoes, helmets, hard hats, rubber boots, gloves, goggles, vests, masks, and firefighting gear are worn or used as required. To be qualified candidates must meet any screen out element(s) listed at an acceptable level, and must achieve an average rating of at least acceptable on all of the elements. Only education, training, or experience acquired before the closing date will be considered. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
